On International Women's Day, Friday 13 March at 8.45 pm, the Civic Library will host the reading 'Violeta. El cantar tiene sentido' in the Gelli Room, dedicated to adults and young adults.
The event pays tribute to Violeta Parra, a Chilean singer-songwriter who, between the 1950s and 1960s, promoted her country's folklore by transforming song into the voice of the people.
Performer Roberta Ruggiero will be alone on stage.
Violeta Parra's original songs will be interspersed with narrative and dialogue moments featuring texts by Marco Sorzio.
